The board of directors of Care Farming Scotland have decided to wind up the organisation and throw their weight and expertise behind a new UK-wide organisation formed from a merger of Care Farming UK and the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens.
Following their meeting on 15th February 2018, the board issued the following statement:
“The best approach for future development of care/social farming in Scotland is through the new merged organisation.
“The simplest way to achieve this is to wind up Care Farming Scotland as an organisation, and for those involved in Care Farming Scotland to offer their knowledge and expertise to the new organisation.
“Meanwhile, at least during the transition period, the Directors of Care Farming Scotland will continue to operate as an informal group (known as “Friends of Care Farming Scotland”) with the aim of ensuring that the new arrangements do indeed pave the way for more effective promotion of care/social farming in Scotland.”
